Answers and ideas to save the planet

Reading time: minutes

Last Call is a podcast by the Giangiacomo Feltrinelli Foundation, produced in collaboration with A2A, that tells the visions and projects of younger generations in response to the climate crisis. Focusing on the four natural elements – air, water, earth, and fire – Olimpia Peroni and Matteo Mario narrate the first-hand efforts of young people, innovators, and entrepreneurs who want to lead the change with their initiatives. Because information alone is not enough, and to answer the last call from our struggling planet, we need cutting-edge ideas and active citizenship.

First episode: Air

The quality of the air and atmospheric pollution have become a pressing issue, especially in several Italian cities. In this episode dedicated to air, we delve into the stories of Wiseair, a Milan-based startup that aims to monitor air quality data, and Clima3t, an association committed to transforming the University of Trento into a model for climate transition within institutions.

Second episode: Water

The quality of one of the Earth’s most essential elements is being severely tested by the effects of the climate crisis. In this episode dedicated to water, we explore the missions of Blue Eco Line, a startup tackling the issue of plastic pollution by collecting floating waste in rivers, and Plastic Free, an association that began as a digital project and now has over 1,000 representatives across Italy.

Third episode: Earth

Land consumption is putting pressure on our territories, and the management of public space has become a heated topic of debate. In this episode dedicated to earth, we explore the stories of La Foresta, a project thriving in the regenerated northern wing of Rovereto’s train station, and Terrapreta, an organization and cultural platform aimed at reconsidering the role of life forms in the environments we inhabit.

Fourth episode: Fire

As decarbonization becomes an increasingly urgent topic for climate policies, fossil fuels still represent the primary global energy source. In this episode dedicated to fire, we discover Carpecarbon, a Turin-based startup that has developed a device to capture carbon dioxide directly from the atmosphere, and Statale a Impatto Zero, a student association advocating for a zero-impact university.
